Hello All
I have not been able to SMS you all and some may have missed the beautiful tribute on Channel 7 News tonight and so if you are already across this information please understand. James Hempenstall died this morning at 11.27am as a result of complication surrounding the progressive and inoperable growth of a brain tumour.
James mother kissed his lips and his sister held his hand and his father wept in his hair as he stopped breathing. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the Brisbane Children's Hospice, Zoe's Place who guided our whole family down this very difficult path - and they did so with such grace and dignity.
To my friends and colleagues who have walked this road with James and me for the better part of 15 years - thankyou for your perseverance and encouragement.
James once said to me on our way to church one Sunday "We are very lucky ,dad" and I asked him why he thought so and James replied "Cos we have so many people who love us" And guess what - he was right.
Peter, James' Dad

Hello again it's me James.
My dad and I have some news that's not so good. Dad said that with just 3 and a half weeks to go we have not sold many tickets so we have to cancel the show.
We have tried very hard with our advertising but left some things too late and it's coming up to school holidays now.
We had a big meeting with everyone on our team this morning. We had our Producer, Leisa and Production Manager, Penny, she's very funny usually but today she was sad. We had our Web Wonder Gurl, Tanya and our Music Guru Craig (I know what a Guru is now) and our Vid guy Gazza and Marty our friend at the Starlight Children's Foundation and Vee from Movo and me and my Dad.
Everyone at the meeting was very worried that cos we had to sell 350 tickets a DAY everyday until the show to cover the cost of the show and still have some money for the Starlight Children's Foundation. My Dad is very sad and I am too.But Dad said that if we went on any longer and didn't sell all out tickets, then lots of people would be let down even more than they already are.
But don't worry everyone remember - Go On, Go Forward, Don't Stop!!!
The Beneath the Stars team are going to postpone the show 'til September next year 2008. All the money people have kindly given us will still be used - it's just that we ran out of time.
I want to say a BIG!!!!! THANKYOU to Shannon Noll, Lisa and Jes from the Veronicas, Ricki-Lee and Daryl Somers as well as Craig and his band Scat and Katherine Ruonala and Harvest Rain Theater and Peter Cupples also to Barbara Gracey and the team from Dreamworld and Sasha Huckstep from Nikelodeon and Denis and Emmanuel and Holly from Sony BMG, Jen Fontaine, Jo Grogan and all the people at Creek Road Presbyterian Church, Logan Unting Church and Trinity Anglican Church at Beenleigh also Richard White and Donna from QIC. Also all the people at Toshiba EID - they have been very good to me and my Dad for the last year.
Tom from Uniline and the Lawyers at Clayton Utz. The Brisbane Broncos have also been very supportive. Quest Newspapers have just been fantastic -
Like I said before - My Dad must type this for me and I get to say what he should write (I hope it comes out ok - but he says he fills in stuff)
I am very sad to have to say all this - my Dad says that it will all be OK but I still feel like I have let a lot of people down especially after the Channel 7 Today Tonight people did such a good job with their interview of Dad and me - (But Dad said he looked fat on the TV and even Uncle Jeffo said he looked porky - Dad and Jeffo have been friends a long time even before Dad looked porky).
So many people have been worried about me especially after my recent visit in the hospital. I just got to say thankyou to all the fans of Shannon Noll and the Veronicas and Ricki-Lee and all who were so looking forward to the show - Dad said I could give you all a big hug - but I'm not old enough for the kissiing part so he said I can write a kiss to everyone by typing in big letters MWA, MWA, MWAAAA!!!!.
The Breakfast crew at 97.3FM Bob, Terry and Robyn and Jen Gould and Chris Hague all you guys have made my time very special.
Thankyou to Craig and Emma and John and Naomi all the musicicians and Scat for playing and singing and Phil Slade who produced two really nice songs for the show 'Make it Count' and 'Tender Mercies'. And to my Dad who wrote the words for me - he is a good word man.
Thankyou to Julie and Alison and Marty from the Starlight Children's Foundation - I am sorry I couldn't do what I said I would but my Dad and everyone on the committee said we would try again next year. There are lots of other people to thank like all the kids at John Paul College, Redlands College and all the other schools I spoke to.
My best Bible verse is in Phillipians and it says 'I can do all things through Him who strengthens me'. Also my Dad says 'What God orders, God pays for'. When we were at the meeting and everyone was talking about the best thing to do, lots of people said that they would go and do whatever Dad said - even Dad said that just him and me would keep going but that there were lots of other people involved and we must think of them and not do anything that would embarrass them. At the meeting Craig said that sometimes God takes longer to answer our prayers than we would like but that he still answers them. Craig talked about how Abraham was real old but still could make babies - Dad said under normal cicumstances his equipment wouldn't work but God made him work eventually. Well I think that my Dad and me will still put on this show eventually. Dad says that his job is to teach me stuff about when things go good and how to behave when things don't go the way we plan.
I will keep writing my Blog (well Dad will help me if I nag him cos he must get a real job now)
Like our motto says everyone - Go on, Go forward, Don't Stop
